Wil Smith specializes in Criminal Law and Civil Litigation.
Mr. Smith earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of
Law, graduating in 1981. He has taught legal education courses pertaining to jury trial skills, jury selection,
and DNA forensics. In 1994, he graduated from the Trial Lawyer's College. Since 1998 Wil Smith has served with the Colorado
Alternate Defense Counsel. In 2009 he was appointed to the Federal Criminal Defense Panel for the United States District Court
of Colorado. Mr. Smith has testified as an expert witness regarding Criminal Defense Standards and has tried over
100 jury trials. Mr. Smith won his first homicide defense in 1983. Mr. Smith has represented
teachers, union members, police officers, nurses, business people, lawyers and many others in civil and criminal
cases. Almost all of Wil Smith's cases have been on behalf of individuals against the government or big corporations.
As an outdoor and wildlife enthusiast, Mr. Smith is dedicated to wildlife conservation
and is the founder and co-owner a photo safari company that organizes wildlife viewing safaris, trekking, and mountaineering
in East Africa. He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mt. Kenya in East Africa, Mt. Kota Kinabalu in
Borneo, the Grand Teton in Wyoming, and numerous other peaks. Email:
